In a democracy it takes courage to speak against one's own party when it is in power. You may lose your friends, power as well as party membership, but Yashwant Sinha, the former Finance Minister of India, decided to speak up and tell the NDA government that the economy is in doldrums, and only the present Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, is responsible for it.
Yashwant Sinha's criticism of the government's economic policies was not taken as an advice from a senior party member. Rather, Jaitley hit back at him suggesting he was applying for the position of the Finance Minister at the age of 80.
In this interview with Catch, Sinha explains his position as a party member, and further criticises the way current government is functioning.
