Asserting that he is no longer the Congress president, Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said in a letter that it had been an honour to serve the party whose values and ideals have served as the "lifeblood of this beautiful nation". Reacting to this, BJP MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore welcomed Gandhi’s decision to resign but said that he disagrees with what the Congress chief wrote in his letter. “Country has rejected the idea of the Congress party. The idea of Congress is associated with corruption, dynastic politics and snatching people’s right. India has a better idea, which is Narendra Modi’s government,” Rathore told reporters.
